How soon can we start?
We prefer a 48 hour lead time, however, due to emergency or unusual circumstances AngelCare may be able to accommodate a more immediate need. Assessment visits can be arranged to meet more immediate service needs. How do you schedule service hours?
An AngelCare representative will come to the home and conduct an assessment. At this time, the client, family members and / or significant others will determine the initial service schedule. The service schedule consists of days and specific times for the aide to provide home health care and homemaking services. For example: A client decides that 10 hours a week should be sufficient to assist with all bathing / personal care needs; medication reminder at 12:00 noon; laundry; grocery shopping; and homemaking chores and some meal preparation. The client doesn’t like to get up to early but would like the aide to be around during the lunch hour. It is decided that the initial schedule will run like this:
Monday 10AM – 1PM Wednesday 10AM – 2PM Friday 10AM – 1PMAdditionally, any changes with regards to schedule changes, vacations, or doctor appointments need to be communicated directly to AngelCare's Client Service Coordinators, which coordinate all client service and field staff schedules. It is the goal of AngelCare to provide need appropriate service care, or personhood centered care.

What is the minimum time that a caregiver will come?
We will accept cases that only require a minimum of one service hour.
For example: A client may need bathing assistance and an aide will be required for only 1 hour once or twice a week.Back to question list

AngelCare accepts personal checks, money orders, or certified checks. Clients will receive a weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly bill from AngelCare. What is the cost?
Specific hourly rates are discussed during the in-home assessment visit. AngelCare maintains a commitment to providing custodial care service at reasonable rates.
How do we know you’re reputable?
AngelCare maintains high standards in hiring, training and in-service agendas. Furthermore, AngelCare is an insured and bonded home health care provider in the state of Michigan. AngelCare has several state contracts and has based our home care provider services to meet or exceed state standards.
AngelCare is a member of several professional organizations which promote quality work practices and valuable industry legislation, laws and network opportunities.
CQC – Consortium on Quality Care Alliance for Health HCAOA – Home Caregivers Accreditation of America Regional Bonding Caregivers Resource Network Senior Advocates Council on Aging BBB – Better Business Bureau MI Choice CoalitionCan we interview the home health aide before he/she starts?
As a general rule, AngelCare tries to place an aide in the home that will be a good fit. Aide placement is based on job skills and knowledge; experience; personality traits and availability. After the initial assessment visit, an “Assessment for Service” (A4S) meeting is conducted by the administrative staff and an aide is selected to start the case. We recommend that a client and/or family member plan on spending some organizational time with the aide, on their first visit to your home. Clear expectations and knowing where the cleaning supplies are make for a high learning curve and more immediate comfort ability. What if I don’t like my aide?
We recommend that you give your aide a few days or weeks to learn your specific needs and “ways of wanting things done.” However, if there is truly a personality conflict, we will gladly replace your aide.Back to question list
Can I just use your service just one time?
Yes, we offer respite care services for families that need a day, night, weekend, or week off.How many aides will be assigned to my case?
It is AngelCare’s goal to maintain continuity of care, as much as possible, for all clients. Typically, one aide is assigned to provide all daytime hours M – F. For 24 hour cases or hospice cases, a team of angels is assigned, again, maintaining AngelCare’s commitment to providing continuity of care. Can we cancel the service?
Yes, you have the right to cancel your service at any time. Typically, our services are suspended or put on hold, during a hospitalization or rehab stay, or for a vacation.
We also service Sun Birds. Clients that head south during the cold Michigan winters usually call us 2 – 3 weeks before their scheduled return to Michigan. Our CSC's then reinstate the service schedule.
